Data processing / processing of personal data

The General Data Protection Regulation defines data processing as any process that is carried out in connection with personal data, whether with or without the aid of automatic procedures. This includes collecting, recording, saving, organising, adapting, modifying, reading, retrieving, using, transmitting, linking, deleting or destroying data.

Article 4 (2) GDPR (Definitions)

“processing” means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction
